East African Athletes Top 2nd Enugu City Int’l Marathon, 

Athletes from Kenya and Ethiopia won the top prizes in the 42km category at the 2nd Enugu City International Marathon, which concluded the Enugu City International Festival. Governor Peter Mbah vowed to return Enugu to its glorious sporting past and make the state the sporting capital of Africa. The 42km race was flagged off at 6:30am in front of the Technical, Vocational Education and Training College, while the 10km race was flagged off by the Secretary to the State Government. Kenya's Edwin Kipyogo won the men's 42km race in 2 hours, 23 minutes, and 38 seconds, taking home a $15,000 prize.
