The federal government has ordered an investigation into massive energy theft and irregularities estimated at N120 billion along the 132kV Ikorodu–Sagamu transmission corridor. The discovery follows discrepancies of up to 100 megawatts in electricity flows and consumption patterns over one year. Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe directed stakeholders to establish the facts through a transparent and scientific process during a high-level meeting convened by the Nigerian Independent System Operator. The NISO statement noted that its enhanced technology-based monitoring systems, deployed since 2024, provided greater visibility into the issues.
