12 jobs that are set to shrink over the next decade

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment of word processors and typists will decline by 34% from 2025 to 2035, the largest drop among 206 jobs with high AI exposure. Other shrinking jobs include order clerks, switchboard operators, and foundry mold and coremakers. Most of these jobs earn less than the national median annual wage of $50,980. Automation is a key reason for the projected declines.
