Idowu Alade, a 55-year-old man, escaped from his abductors' hideout in Ose Local Government Area, Ondo State, while they were asleep. Alade was abducted at Aroge Camp near Idoani on August 21 at about 6:00 pm after leaving his residence to buy a recharge card. The Police Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Jimoh, said community members launched a search when Alade failed to return, and the matter was reported at the Idoani Police Division. Police, Amotekun Corps, vigilantes, and local hunters conducted an intensive search, and Alade emerged through the Ifira area on August 23.
