2027: Tinubu’s group to meet Ohanaeze, Anyaoku to beg Obi to step down

The Southeast chapter of the Renewed Hope for Greater Nigeria (RHGN) has resolved to engage leading Igbo statesmen to persuade former Anambra State governor and presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, to withdraw from the 2027 contest and support President Bola Tinubu's re-election. The group's leader, Mazi Franklin Ngoforo, disclosed this after a meeting in Owerri. They plan to approach the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and elder statesmen including Chief Emeka Anyaoku and Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe to lead a delegation to Obi.
