The Department of State Services (DSS) has instructed its counsel to request an adjournment in the cybercrime case against Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), until after the 2027 presidential election. The move is reportedly intended to allow Sowore to participate fully in the electioneering process without court proceedings hindering his political activities. The case stems from social media posts in which Sowore referred to President Bola Tinubu as a 'criminal'. The DSS had issued a seven-day ultimatum for the removal of the posts, and after they were not taken down, approached the Federal High Court on September 16, 2025.
