A labour crisis is brewing in Ogun State as 580 workers of companies under the WEMPCO Group were allegedly evicted at gunpoint by armed police. The allegation is contained in a petition to the Minister of Labour and Employment from Abope Chambers on behalf of the Steel and Engineering Workers Union of Nigeria. The lawyers warned that an additional 1,321 workers across 14 companies could lose their jobs if the dispute is not resolved.
