The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NiHSA) has refuted reports that water is being released from the Lagdo Dam in Cameroon, which had been linked to flooding in the Benue River Basin. Director-General Arc Umar Mohammed stated that the dam authority is currently impounding water, not releasing it. He assured the public that there is no cause for alarm, citing reservoir operation data showing the water level at 209.
