The Eleta of Iyara, Oba Jacob Babatunde Meduteni, has died at the age of 75 in his palace in Iyara, Kogi State, after a prolonged illness. He ascended the throne in 2023, initially as a third-class chief, but the stool was upgraded to second-class status later that year. His coronation took place in December 2023, attended by prominent figures.
