The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State has called for increased security in all places of worship across the state, especially during Jummat and Sunday services. This follows the abduction of an unknown number of worshippers at a mosque in Dekira town in the Borgu emirate. CAN Chairman, Most Reverend Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, made the call in his homily at St. Michael's Catholic Cathedral in Minna, where prayers were offered for the release of those kidnapped by bandits and terrorists over a week ago. Yohanna stated that an attack on any place of worship is an attack on the sanctity of worship and a threat to the wider community, expressing solidarity with the victims and their families.
