The Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE) has urged the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) to restrict fuel import approvals to verified domestic supply shortfalls. The CPPE warned that indiscriminate imports could undermine investment in local refining. The recommendation aims to protect Nigeria's refining capacity and encourage domestic production. The NMDPRA has not yet responded to the call.
