The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) secured victory in all 21 local government chairmanship positions and 362 councillorship seats in the Anambra State local government election held on Saturday. The Chairman of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC), Mrs. Genevieve Osakwe, announced the results in Awka, declaring all APGA candidates as winners. Osakwe stated that the election was peaceful, free, fair, transparent, and credible, in accordance with the state's electoral laws. She also addressed reports of a boycott by the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Anambra East Local Government Area, clarifying that the commission was unaware of any such boycott and that the YPP chairmanship candidate received 1,658 votes.
