The Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE) has warned that Nigeria risks undermining its domestic refining sector if petroleum-product import permits continue to be issued without proof of a genuine supply shortfall. In a policy report, CPPE CEO Dr. Muda Yusuf argued that unchecked import licensing could reverse progress in local refining. The warning comes amid ongoing debates over fuel imports and refinery viability.
