The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Nigeria Section, has reaffirmed its commitment to championing resilient and sustainable infrastructure through initiatives such as engineering standards, research, professional education, policy advocacy, and strategic partnerships. Speaking at the ASCE 2026 Conference, the President of the Nigeria Section, Austin Odibi, stated that the section will continue to promote engineering excellence, knowledge exchange, and innovative approaches to Nigeria's infrastructure challenges. He noted that these efforts equip engineers with the knowledge and tools required to address climate change, advance innovative infrastructure solutions, and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The event, themed 'Climate Adaptive Cities: Engineering Solutions for Resilient Urban Futures', focused on efforts relating to resilient infrastructure and sustainability.
