The federal government is exploring legal options, including the 'law of necessity' on grounds of overriding public interest, to end the concession agreement for the Benin-Asaba Road inherited from the Buhari administration. Minister of Works David Umahi disclosed this during an inspection of the Second Niger Bridge project. He said the government is concerned about the road's deterioration and the suffering of motorists, and will not allow the agreement to hinder progress.
