The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) has warned that Nigeria's economic growth outlook for the second half of 2026 could be threatened by global shocks, rising political activities ahead of the 2027 elections, insecurity, and climate disruptions. In its H1 2026 report, the NESG identified factors that could weaken macroeconomic stability and slow non-oil sector expansion. However, stronger oil recovery and increased foreign capital inflows may push growth above projections.
