The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered a major international drug trafficking operation spanning Africa, Europe, and Asia, intercepting illicit consignments worth over N6.2 billion in Lagos. The seizures included 47,200 tablets of captagon, known as the 'Jihadi drug,' hidden in blocks of bathing soap imported from Ghana. The captagon haul, valued at over N1.5 billion, was intercepted at Murtala Muhammed International Airport after the arrest of 49-year-old Akinbile Kazeem Aikins. The operation also involved the arrest of a suspected cross-border kingpin and other traffickers.
