Presidency spends N37.6bn on trips

An analysis by GovSpend, an accountability platform, shows that the Nigerian Presidency spent N37.64 billion on domestic and foreign travel between June 2023 and April 2026. President Bola Tinubu recently left Abuja for a three-week vacation in Europe, with London as his first stop. This trip follows Vice President Kashim Shettima's return from a two-week vacation. Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga stated that Tinubu is expected to return to join the campaign for the January 2027 elections.
