The Nigerian naira opened the trading week around N1,300 per dollar, with official data showing a closing rate of N1,337.29/$1 on Friday. The Central Bank of Nigeria reported the NFEM rate at N1,337.2873 per dollar on August 28. The naira appreciated by about 0.96 percent during the previous week. In the parallel market, the dollar was quoted at about N1,400, leaving a gap of roughly N63 between the official and informal rates.
