A recent study by James Ojo Adakole, published in IRE Journals, reveals that corruption and misconduct among police officers are major factors reducing public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force. The research, which surveyed 256 Nigerians, found that 84.8% of respondents said corruption reduces their confidence in the police, and 85.2% believe the force does not treat citizens fairly. Additionally, 67.6% reported that police officers do not conduct themselves professionally. These negative perceptions are affecting citizens' willingness to share intelligence with the police, hindering efforts to combat insecurity.
