Democracy stakeholders have warned that the credibility of Nigeria's 2027 general election will depend on collective action and accountability across the electoral chain, not just laws. The call was made at a national dialogue on election integrity organized by FixPolitics Africa in Abuja. Speakers noted that public trust has eroded due to poor enforcement, impunity, and weak institutional conduct. Executive Director of FixPolitics Africa, Mr. Anthony Ubani, highlighted declining voter turnout, which fell from 53.7% in 2011 to 26.7% in 2023, as a sign of growing distrust.
