Human rights lawyer Dele Farotimi has stated that the growing influence of social media activist Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), reflects the failure of Nigeria's judicial system. Farotimi made this comment in a YouTube video while discussing VDM's invitation to the Nigerian Bar Association's 66th Annual General Conference. He argued that in a country with functional police and courts, the emergence of such an activist would not be tolerated. Farotimi described VDM as a reflection of weaknesses in the justice system, adding that efforts to silence him would not solve the underlying issues.
