A passenger ferry capsized off the coast of Northern Cyprus, resulting in at least eight deaths and 18 people missing. The vessel was carrying 259 passengers and eight crew members when it began taking on water shortly after leaving Kyrenia on Sunday. According to Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, rescue operations are ongoing.
