INEC challenges NDC to provide evidence of “smuggled” candidates in Anambra

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has challenged the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to provide evidence of officials allegedly involved in smuggling unknown candidates into the party's list for some Anambra State House of Assembly constituencies. INEC's Chief Press Secretary stated that the Commission would act only if the NDC substantiates the allegations with credible evidence. The Commission emphasized that it does not make speculative claims and will examine relevant records. The response comes ahead of the 2027 General Election.
