Former Bayelsa State Governor and ex-Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a resignation letter dated August 31, 2026, he accused the party of abandoning its founding ideals and embracing a philosophy of 'all is fair in politics.' Sylva, a founding member, said his decision followed consultations with family and associates. The letter was sent to his ward chairman in Brass Local Government Area and copied to the APC National Chairman.
