The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, has extended warm wishes to people of African descent worldwide on the International Day for People of African Descent. He emphasized the deep bonds connecting Africa with its diasporas and reaffirmed the AU's commitment to advancing recognition, justice, and development during the Second International Decade for People of African Descent (2025–2034). The Chairperson also reiterated the AU's dedication to combating racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia, and related intolerance.
