Motorists decry high cost of petrol in FCT

Motorists in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have expressed concerns over the rising pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol. The increase follows a rise in global oil prices, with Brent crude trading at about $90.35 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) at about $85.35 per barrel. Dangote Refinery has raised its ex-depot price from N1,165 to N1,265 per litre within the last week, prompting filling stations across the FCT to adjust their prices upward. For instance, Eterna filling station sold petrol at N1,320 per litre, Gegu Oil at N1,310, and TotalEnergies at N1,280, forcing motorists to pay more for fuel.
