Kaspersky research reveals that 82% of small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) in the Middle East, Turkiye, and Africa (META) region experienced cybersecurity incidents in the past year. The global survey found that only 18% of businesses with 100-499 employees in the META region avoided a cyber incident, compared to 14% globally. Cyberthreats include malware, spyware, password stealers, and backdoor attacks, with significant increases in Africa. Kaspersky is releasing recommendations to help businesses strengthen their defences, particularly as cyber attackers increasingly target smaller enterprises.
