Lagos records 33,009 SGBV cases, 10,613 children affected

Lagos State has recorded 33,009 cases of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), with 10,613 children affected, according to the state's Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency. The figures include 1,171 defilement cases, 797 cases of child abuse and physical assault, 420 rape cases, 428 sexual harassment cases, and 100 cases of sexual assault by penetration. The agency's executive secretary, Pedro, disclosed these statistics, highlighting the scale of the issue in the state.
