Emergency response agencies in Kaduna have launched evacuation, search, and rescue operations following a flash flood that swept through parts of Kaduna metropolis on Sunday evening. The affected areas include Asikolaye and the Federal Polytechnic, Tudun Wada, in Kaduna North Local Government Area. Agencies involved include NEMA, Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency, fire services, NSCDC, and the Red Cross. Halima Suleiman, Head of NEMA Operations Office, Kaduna, said floodwater had receded but residual water remained, and reports of casualties were still being verified.
