At least 2,500 buildings were destroyed in Nepal's Trishuli valley by tsunami-like glacial floods on August 26, according to data from Europe's Copernicus observatory. This represents about two-thirds of all buildings in the affected zones, with over 70% impacted when partially damaged structures are included. The floods, attributed to the collapse of a Himalayan glacier, also affected areas near the Gyirong border post between Nepal and Tibet.
