In Zambia's rural communities, women have long possessed weaving skills but lacked access to markets, training, and support. The Handloom and Textile Technology Association of Zambia (HATTAZ) is working to bridge this gap by providing training and market access. Doris Phiri, who joined as an intern, has risen to lead the organization, championing women's empowerment and community development. The handloom sector is seen as a key link between culture, livelihoods, and trade in Zambia.
