The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recovered over N1.23 trillion and $684 million between October 2023 and June 2026, according to its Chairman, Ola Olukoyede. He disclosed the figures during a briefing at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on Monday, highlighting the commission's achievements under his leadership. The recoveries were attributed to sustained enforcement, institutional reforms, prosecution, asset recovery, restitution, and collaboration with local and international partners. Olukoyede, who assumed office with a pledge to reposition the commission, said his administration focused on strengthening the EFCC's core mandate and supporting economic growth through the fight against economic and financial crimes.
