‘It’s figurative expression’; Borno’s commissioner denies threat to cut off opposition members’ fingers

Borno State Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation, Youth Empowerment and Sports, Comrade Saina Buba, has denied media reports that he threatened physical harm against opposition members. In a viral video, Buba was heard saying, 'Whoever shows us a finger, we will show him a finger... Whoever dares to show us a finger again, we will break his finger.' However, he clarified that the statement was directed at members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the North-East, not opposition members. He insisted that his statement was twisted and taken out of context.
