FG prosecutes Ogoni leader over alleged seizure of oil wells

The Federal Government has commenced the prosecution of Chief Gani Topba, leader of the Conscience of Ogoni People, on charges of terrorism, seizure of oil wells, and cyber crimes. The Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has fixed September 3, 2026, for the hearing of his bail application. Topba was arrested by the Department of Security Services and has been remanded in their custody.
