Nigeria international defender Benjamin Fredrick returned to competitive action after a nine-month injury layoff, playing 45 minutes for Brentford Under-21 in their 5-1 win over Sunderland Under-21 in Premier League 2. Fredrick had suffered a meniscus injury while on loan at Belgian club FC Dender in November, which required surgery. After recovery, he rejoined Brentford's first-team setup and was gradually reintegrated into training before making his comeback.
