Citadel, led by Ken Griffin, is seeking to compel two senior executives from Marshall Wace, Anthony Clarke and Alan Hofmeyr, to produce communications related to the recruitment of former Citadel portfolio manager Dan Shatz. Shatz joined Marshall Wace in late 2024 as global head of credit. Citadel alleges that Marshall Wace has provided limited documents, with only a single text message chain between Shatz and Nick Nielsen shared since a court order in June. The legal dispute stems from an arbitration case involving Shatz's departure.
