Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC) and Export-Import Bank of Pakistan (EXIM Bank of Pakistan) Sign Reinsurance Agreement to Strengthen Pakistan’s Export Sector

The Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC), a Shariah-based multilateral insurer and member of the Islamic Development Bank Group, has signed a Reinsurance Agreement with the Export-Import Bank of Pakistan (EXIM Bank of Pakistan). The agreement, signed during ICIEC's mission to Pakistan, aims to strengthen Pakistan EXIM's risk-mitigation capacity and expand its ability to support Pakistani exporters through export credit insurance solutions. Under the agreement, ICIEC will provide reinsurance support for eligible export transactions, enhancing risk-sharing capacity and facilitating access to credit for Pakistani businesses, including SMEs. Dr. Khalid Khalafalla, CEO of ICIEC, stated that the agreement marks an important step in strengthening the partnership between the two institutions.
