The National Laureate Committee has extended the deadline for submission of institutional entries for the 2026 National Laureate Programme to September 15, 2026. The initial deadline was August 31, 2026, and the extension follows appeals from tertiary institutions for more time to complete their internal selection processes. The committee, in a statement by its spokesman Ita Ekpenyong, said the additional window will allow universities, polytechnics, and other eligible institutions to finalize their selection committees and submit approved research entries. The programme, inaugurated by the Federal Government under the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, is designed to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda.
