The Nigerian military, in a combined operation with the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS) and local vigilantes, rescued 21 kidnap victims in Kogi State, including 15 NYSC members. The operation was carried out following reports of a mass abduction along the Alloma–Ejule–Itobe road axis. The victims were rescued from the Egume and Ochaja forest areas of Dekina Local Government Area. The successful rescue was confirmed by the authorities.
