Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 polls, and Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, National Chairman of the People's Redemption Party (PRP), have criticized President Bola Tinubu over alleged attempts to block the release of his past records in the United States by the FBI. Obi described the move as embarrassing, while Baba-Ahmed questioned who is in charge of governance during the simultaneous absence of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima from the country. Baba-Ahmed made these remarks at the first national summit of opposition political leaders in Abuja.
