As GDP Growth Hits 4.43%, Tinubu Vows to Turn Recovery into Household Prosperity

President Bola Tinubu declared that Nigeria's economy has moved beyond the difficult phase of stabilisation, as GDP growth accelerated to 4.43 percent in the second quarter of 2026, up from 3.89 percent in the previous quarter. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the growth was driven by agriculture and services, while the industrial sector moderated. Oil production increased to 1.72 million barrels per day, contributing 4.16 percent to GDP. Tinubu vowed to turn the recovery into household prosperity.
