Timipre Sylva, former Governor of Bayelsa State and immediate past Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC). In his resignation letter dated August 31, 2026, Sylva accused the party of abandoning its founding ideals and embracing a philosophy that 'all is fair in politics.' Sylva copied the APC National Chairman, the EFCC Chairman, and the Bayelsa State APC Chairman on the letter.
