Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara met in Port Harcourt on Sunday amid reports of a breakdown in reconciliation efforts. The meeting, which included former APC Deputy National Chairman Sam Sam Jaja, was seen as a move to consolidate their political relationship. It was the first meeting between the two since Fubara withdrew his re-election intention for the 2027 governorship race. Wike was accompanied by APC governorship candidate Kingsley Chinda and Senator Magnus Abe, chairman of the Rainbow Coalition Reconciliation Committee.
