An aide to President Bola Tinubu has claimed that the fuel subsidy plan proposed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar could cost Nigeria ₦22 trillion yearly. The aide compared the plan to dressing a pig in white, stating that moving subsidies from the pump to the barrel is just the same invisible subsidy programme. The comment was made in response to Atiku's proposal.
