EFCC sacks 40 staff members over corruption

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has disclosed that more than 40 of its personnel have been dismissed in the past two and a half years over alleged corruption and financial malfeasance. The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, made this known in Abuja during a meeting with media executives and journalists, stating that more than five of those dismissed are currently facing prosecution. He added that case files of others involved are being prepared for prosecution. Olukoyede stressed that these actions are part of efforts to ensure personnel maintain the highest standards of integrity while investigating and prosecuting corruption cases.
