Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that if the United States goes back to a deal made in June, which aimed to stop fighting between the two countries, Iran would respond right away. He made this comment during a meeting in Kyrgyzstan. The deal was supposed to end hostilities that started after attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, which resulted in the death of a significant leader in Iran. However, the agreement fell apart, with both sides blaming each other for not following the rules. Currently, there is tension in the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial waterway for shipping, where both countries have recently exchanged fire after a period of calm. Iran has kept this waterway closed but has said it would reopen it if the US also returns to the deal. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the US must fulfill its promises for things to improve.
