A two-storey building in Anambra has collapsed, but thankfully, no one was hurt. The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Chijioke Ojukwu, confirmed this news. The building fell down on Sunday in a place called Inyaba-Umudim Nnewi. Ojukwu visited the site and called the situation unfortunate, but he was relieved that there were no casualties. He mentioned that people living in a nearby three-storey building have been told to leave for safety reasons, as that building will be checked for safety. He noted that the collapsed building was poorly built and did not have the necessary approvals from the authorities. There will be checks on other buildings in the area, and any that do not pass safety tests may be demolished. The government plans to take action against buildings that are built in unsafe ways or without proper permission.
