A severe flood along the China-Nepal border has caused great destruction, resulting in at least 1,000 deaths. In Nepal, the official count is around 987, while Chinese reports indicate 16 fatalities in Tibet, making the total death toll 1,003. Rescue operations are ongoing, but nearly 3,916 people in Nepal are still missing, including 583 foreigners from over 30 countries. In China, 546 people are also unaccounted for, bringing the total number of missing individuals to about 4,462. Among the missing foreigners, a significant number are from India, with 275 Indian citizens and 128 people of Indian origin missing in Nepal. Additionally, there are 85 missing Americans, 62 Ukrainians, 51 Malaysians, 42 Australians, and 33 British citizens. In India, authorities have found 17 bodies believed to be flood victims, but these are not included in the official death toll as they are still being identified. Rescue efforts continue as the situation develops.
