Adeyanju warned that mixing religion with politics could create more divisions in Nigeria and harm the country's unity. He believes that elections should focus on ideas and policies, not on religious affiliations. Adeyanju stated that churches should not be used for political campaigns and that politicians should not act like religious leaders. He pointed out that the Electoral Act of 2026 clearly forbids using places of worship for political purposes. Adeyanju expressed concern that Obi's actions might lead to a repeat of the divisive politics seen in the 2023 elections. He urged religious leaders to avoid giving politicians a platform in churches to keep religious institutions respected and separate from politics. He concluded by emphasizing that not everything is acceptable in politics, contrary to what some leaders may claim.
